We developed a stand-alone psychiatric facility adjacent to the main South Sacramento hospital for Kaiser Permanente. We created a human-scaled healing environment, buffered from the institutional elements of a traditional hospital.
Our solution called for a turning inward, with spaces and views focused on an internal courtyard and generously landscaped gardens. The floor plan satisfies the client’s need for close supervision of the resident patients while minimizing any sense of intrusion. The resulting design, with a carefully chosen palette of finish materials and colors, provides a pleasant, healing atmosphere.
Facilities include: Public Meeting Rooms, Consultation Areas, Occupational/Recreational Therapy, Pharmacy, Library, Kitchen, and various support spaces.
