Dreyfuss + Blackford delivered this industrial project in collaboration with Frank O. Gehry & Associates, developing an innovative manufacturing plant with careful attention to work flow, efficiency and productivity.
The plant comprised 400,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, with office, showroom and employee amenities clustered around an open courtyard.
The Designer-Specifier noted “The architects have enriched the genre of manufacturing facility design with this project and created a model well worth emulating.” The project was lauded with several design awards including an AIA National Honor Award in 1991.
Herman Miller closed and sold this landmark facility to William Jessup University. The plant has been successfully adapted for continued use.
