Dreyfuss & Blackford principal Jason Silva, together with the American Institute of Architects, Central Valley chapter, launched a campaign to raise awareness that every building has an architect. The goal of the program is to encourage the practice of crediting the architect when using an image of buildings in the media.
Modeled after a program created by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, Every Building Has An Architect employs a simple postcard that is sent to journalists and editors when an article or story fails to mention the architect. While painters, composers and photographers are almost always credited in the media, architects rarely receive mention. If you see a project that is not referenced, contact the chapter and request a postcard be sent!
